But there is more to them than being simply being “cool.” Detoxification is necessary to promote complete health for your body, especially if your diet has been off or your stress levels have been high. Detoxification removes toxins and other harmful substances from your body – it cleanses you from the inside out, leading to better health overall.
Detoxification is not only an essential part of healthy living, but it is also a perfect starting place for developing a new healthy lifestyle.
Here are 8 signs it may be time to flush out the toxins in your body:
1. Sleepless Nights
Your body does some important maintenance and cleaning work at night, so if you find yourself waking up in the middle of the night and it always happens about the same time every night, then this could be a sign that your body is struggling to cope with the toxic overload.
2. Gallbladder Issues
If you are having any issues such as pain when you eat any fats, it is likely your gallbladder telling you it is overloaded. When your body is overloaded with toxins, bile released in the gallbladder from the liver can become too concentrated, which can ultimately clog your gallbladder and increase the risk of gallstones—often the source of the pain.
Chronic constipation is a sign that something isn’t right in your digestive system. If you’ve tried increasing your fiber intake and adjusting your diet with limited results, it could be your body telling you that it needs a cleansing. Frequent Indigestion is also a common sign.
4. A Thick White Or Yellow Coating On The Tongue
A thin pale red and bright pink coating is a normal coloring of the tongue. However, if you notice that the color of your tongue changes in white or yellow, it can be a sign that the body is overloaded with toxins. If your body is full of toxins, you can also experience bad breath. All of these are signs that your body needs detoxification
When you experience chronic or high stress, it will not only affect your mind and soul but your body too. Your body can break down from high stress. Stress can also lead to unhealthy behaviors from binge-eating to smoking.
Taking care of your mind and soul should be part of your detox. Take on meditation, yoga, and journaling. Practice breathing exercises. No matter how busy your life is, make sure to take 20 minutes of quiet relaxation time every day.
6. You Are Relying On Caffeine To Get You Through The Day
Caffeine only gives you a temporary energy boost, which ultimately will make you feel even worse when it wears off. If you are finding that you need caffeine just to keep you going through the day, then it’s time to start thinking about switching to healthier food and drinks and clear some of those chemicals out of your body.
7. Brain Fog/Unable to Focus
If you consistently find that in your natural state you lack the ability to focus and find yourself adrift in a mental fog, your body could be screaming at you to detoxify it, and this is its cry for help. Don’t misread it as a sign to use a stimulating drink or prescription drug.
8. Weight Gain
If you have a difficult time losing weight and you are, in fact, actually gaining weight, you can likely benefit from a detox. Toxin build up in your body is a common cause of weight gain and it also prevents you from losing it.
Do a liver cleanse to flush out all the toxins. Avoid processed food, focus on cleansing fruits and vegetables. A juice fast can be helpful. Also commit to 30 – 60 minutes of exercise every day, if possible.
